Some Little Known Facts...

Your questions from Facebook...answered!

Q: What made you want to do the radio industry?

A: Growing up I always had a passion for music and while I was a shy kid, I always had a passion to entertain, as well. At 12, I said, "I wanna do that!" pointing to the radio and I got laughed at (by my Mom, no less.) It took me a while, but finally in college I broke out of my "shy-shell" and ended up at the radio school. Next thing I knew, I had my first job within a couple months of attending.

Q: What's your favorite part of your job?

A: I love doing my show every day, but my favorite thing is going to schools, or being at different events like Summer Jam and getting to meet everyone that listens on a regular basis. We have no idea how many lives we reach while we're sitting in that little room with the microphone until we're out and get to be with you face to face. It's really an awesome feeling.

Q: How many celebrities have you met?

A: How many is REALLY difficult to say at this point. I've been in this business going on 7 years and we meet people all the time...to name a few: Pink, Justin Bieber, Kelly Clarkson, Jason Derulo, Carrie Underwood, Jason Mraz, Chelsea Handler, Train, Jesse McCartney and the list goes on and on.

Q: What's your favorite place to eat?

A: I tend to go out to eat quite a bit, but on any random night, you'd probably catch me at Juniors in Albany. It's been a fave hang of mine and my friends for a while now.

Q: What do you like to do when not at work?

A: I love playing my guitar and writing, it's a great outlet for me. I also have a blast being with family and friends; I have some really amazing people in my life.

Q: You tweeted that you missed Looney Tunes, which was your favorite character?

A: Foghorn Leghorn always made me giggle, but I hold a place in my heart for Bugs Bunny.

Q: What's your favorite sleeping position?

A: I tend to get my most comfortable on my stomach...I'm sure there is a joke there. Keep it to yourself :)

Q: What do you think of todays music compared to that of the 80s/90s? Likes/dislikes?

A: The 90s generation of music was just awesome to me; Of course that's what I grew up with, so that makes sense. What I liked about it was just the fun, pop feel. It wasn't always about sex or drugs or swearing up a storm, it was just fun. I feel like sometimes artists today swear just to shock; however at the same time, more songs seem to have a bit more meaning to them. More seem to tell a story which is what a song really should do.

Q: Who are your favorite musicians?

A: Hanson will always top my list (listen to things post-MMM Bop before you judge me,) I am also a big fan of Kelly Clarkson, Adele, Kris Allen, Bruno Mars and more. My iPod will go from the Jackson 5 to some country to rap to pop. I try to listen to it all.

Q: If you could re-live one day of working for FLY, what day would it be and why?

A: Summer Jam 2008 was an amazing day. My birthday was a couple days later, so it was celebrated throughout the festival. Ace Young sang happy birthday to me live on the radio, Blake Lewis beatboxed for me, I got to hang with Simple Plan and have a conversation I'm sure that Pierre wouldn't have normally had with just anyone and it goes on and on! A close second would be when Justin Bieber played at the TU Center...that day was just epic.
