Swifties are going overboard by trying to get NYU Graduation tickets. Taylor Swift is set to speak at the upcoming commencement ceremony at Yankee Stadium on May 18th, and Taylor superfans are offering upwards of $500 a ticket to see the singer. Students are receiving strange messages about tickets, “Some messages are to the point, like ‘Are you giving your tickets away?’” Sean Nesmith told the New York Post. “A girl said she would be my ‘biggest fan’ with a megaphone and cheering me on during the ceremony if I gave her a ticket.” While the school prohibits the selling of the free tickets and even goes as far as to withhold the diploma of anyone who is caught auctioning off the tickets, some students can’t help but wonder, “what if?” “The topic of actually how much they’d be worth wasn’t brought up during the conversation,” said senior William Ferrante. “But if I was able to get tickets to her ceremony I don’t think I’d really charge an exorbitant amount.” Would you pay to see your favorite artists give a university commencement speech? Do you think Taylor will sing “22” at the 2022 NYU graduation?
