The Knicks are one win away from their first NBA championship since 1973.

The last time New York reached the NBA Finals was 1999.

Twenty-seven years ago, Patrick Ewing was still a Knick, the internet connected through dial-up, and a lot of the things we use every day didn't exist yet.

The Matrix was changing science fiction forever.

Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me was one of the summer's biggest hits.

On Television

Friends was one of the biggest shows in America.

The Sopranos had just debuted.

And MTV's Total Request Live was required viewing every afternoon.

Things That Didn't Exist Yet

No Facebook.

No Instagram.

No YouTube.

No TikTok.

No iPhone.

No Spotify.

Google was less than a year old.

Napster had just launched.

And everyone was worried about Y2K.

Twenty-seven years later, the Knicks are back on the verge of a championship.

What's the first thing you remember about 1999?
