TikTok is reportedly developing a new version of its app for users in the United States in preparation for a planned sale to a group of investors. U.S. President Donald Trump has indicated that talks with China about a potential TikTok deal will begin soon. The new app is expected to launch on September 5, with users eventually needing to download it to continue using the service. A deal to spin off TikTok's U.S. operations into a U.S.-based firm was previously in progress but was put on hold.
