Tobey Maguire just took the modern family thing to a whole new level. The Spider-Man star officiated his ex-wife Jennifer Meyer’s wedding to Geoffrey Ogunlesi this past weekend in Hawaii.

The couple said “I do” on October 10 in an intimate ceremony. According to Indulge Express, Meyer’s kids with Maguire, Ruby and Otis, were there, along with a guest list that included Leonardo DiCaprio, Jeff Bezos, Courteney Cox, Kate Hudson and Rachel Zoe. The outlet reports Meyer kept her look simple and elegant in a strapless white gown.

The timing makes the story even more interesting. Maguire and Meyer were declared legally single on September 21, according to court documents reported by ARY News. That was less than three weeks before the wedding, and nearly ten years after they split.

How they got here

Maguire and Meyer met in 2003 while he was filming Seabiscuit. They married in 2007 in Kona, Hawaii, so this weekend’s wedding brought things full circle in a way. Their daughter Ruby was born in 2006 and their son Otis in 2009.

The couple announced their separation in October 2016. Meyer filed for divorce in 2020, and the case stretched on for years before it was finally settled this fall.

Through all of it, the two have stayed close. Meyer has called Maguire the best dad and the best ex-husband, and she has said he gets along well with Ogunlesi. When the Los Angeles wildfires hit in early 2025, Meyer and her family even stayed at Maguire’s place, per ARY News.

Meet the groom

Ogunlesi proposed in September 2024, and Meyer shared the news on Instagram with a one-word caption: “Yes.” He is the founder and CEO of the Ogunlesi Group, a Los Angeles music and entertainment management company. He is also the son of Nigerian billionaire Adebayo Ogunlesi. The couple welcomed a baby girl earlier this year, Meyer’s third child and their first together.

Meyer is the designer behind Jennifer Meyer Jewelry, whose pieces are worn by plenty of famous fans. She even designed Jennifer Aniston’s wedding ring.

Not many people can say their ex-husband married them off. Then again, not many people have an ex-husband who was Spider-Man.
