Uber Technologies is rebranding its "Uber Green" service as "Uber Electric" and launching a $4,000 grant program for drivers to promote zero-emission rides by 2040. The "Go Electric" grants will provide eligible drivers with $4,000 to purchase new or used electric vehicles in select states. This initiative comes as a federal tax credit for electric vehicle purchases expired, making EVs costlier for buyers. Uber has already shifted its U.S. Uber Green service to an all-electric model and aims to ease "range anxiety" for drivers with expanded battery-aware matching features. Riders will receive a 20% discount on their next electric trip to celebrate the rebrand.
