Woman Cheats 33 Victims of Nearly S$2 Million in Travel Deals, Taylor Swift Tickets and Investment Scam

A 32-year-old Indonesian woman in Singapore was sentenced to eight-and-a-half years in jail for running a Ponzi scheme that defrauded 33 victims of almost S$2 million. Nila Anggraini Citra Sejati offered cheap travel bookings and investment opportunities in her fake travel businesses, promising high returns. She used new funds to pay off earlier investors and fulfill bookings, but the scheme eventually collapsed, leaving many victims in debt. The court heard that Nila deceived victims with fake tickets and bogus booking references, causing emotional stress and financial losses. The judge noted the elaborate nature of the fraud and the significant impact on victims.
