A strong post-Labor Day thunderstorm wreaked havoc in at least one Rensselaer County town on Thursday.
The Village of Hoosick Falls is currently under a state of emergency as strong winds and lightning downed trees and power lines, leaving roads blocked and thousands without power. The Rensselaer pump station, responsible for providing a large part of the community with water, went offline after a generator failed to kick in.
Police, fire and National Grid are trying to restore services as quickly as possible.
This storm damage is no joke!
