The South Mall Expressway will be closed on Monday.
If you work or need to be in Downtown Albany, especially in or around The Empire State Plaza, you're going to want to be aware of this ramp closure!
This Monday, September 8th, from 9am to 3pm, the South Mall Expressway that brings you to the Northbound side of 787 is going to be closed down.
According to the New York State Department of Transportation, the reason being that crews will be onsite conducting a routine bridge inspection.
If you travel in that area, officials say that you should simply follow the detour signs to 787 South and then get off the South Pearl St. exit. They are also urging people to expect delays and give yourself extra time to allow for those delays.
Please keep in mind that construction or any road or ramp closures are weather permitting. These plans can change based on the weather conditions.
