Flags, Fireworks & Parades: Memorial Day 2026 Guide
Communities across Albany and the greater Capital Region will honor Memorial Day 2026 with parades, ceremonies, memorial services, and tributes to the men and women who gave their lives in service to the country. From Albany to Lake George and surrounding towns and villages, residents will gather throughout Memorial Day weekend to celebrate local veterans, marching bands, first responders, and community organizations. The annual events remain one of the Capital Region’s longest-standing traditions, bringing families together while remembering the true meaning of Memorial Day.

• Scotia-Glenville Memorial Day Parade & Ceremony — 6:15 p.m., Mohawk Ave., Scotia; ceremony follows at Collins Park War Memorial
• Waterford Memorial Day Parade — 7 p.m., followed by ceremony at Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Park

• Cohoes Annual Memorial Day Parade — 6 p.m., begins at Veterans Memorial Park on Columbia Street
• Green Island Memorial Day Parade — 6 p.m., ceremonies at the WWI Monument, Vietnam Memorial, and American Legion Post #927
• Schoharie Memorial Day Parade — 6 p.m., opening ceremony before parade at County Office Building
• Rotterdam Memorial Day Parade — 6:30 p.m., begins at Mohonasen High School and concludes at Rotterdam Town Hall honoring Captain William Frank Jr.
• Melrose / Schaghticoke / Valley Falls / Johnsonville Memorial Day Parade — 7 p.m., ceremony follows at Hemstreet Park Fire Department
