Flags, Drums, and Remembrance With Daily Memorial Day Parades Through Monday

Communities throughout the area will come together this week to honor fallen heroes with a full lineup of Memorial Day parades and ceremonies. Events begin Wednesday, May 21, and continue through Memorial Day on Monday, May 26. From small towns to bustling city blocks, local parades offer a heartfelt way for families, friends, and neighbors to remember and reflect. Here’s a look at where and when you can take part in this year’s Memorial Day parades.


Wednesday, May 21

Scotia – 6:15 p.m. | Starts at Mohawk Avenue, ends at Collins Park. Road closures begin at 5 p.m.

Waterford – 7:00 p.m. | Grace Street to Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Park.

 

Thursday, May 22

Cohoes – 6 p.m. | Veteran’s Memorial Park to Canal Square.

Schoharie – 6 p.m. | County Office Building to the Firehouse.

Rotterdam – 6 p.m. | Warrior Path (Mohonasen High School) to Rotterdam Town Hall.

 

Friday, May 23

South Glens Falls – 6 p.m. | Wilson Avenue to Veteran’s Memorial Park. Food at Moreau Community Center from 4–6 p.m.

 

Saturday, May 24

Ballston Spa – 9 a.m. | Ocean State Job Lot to Veterans Park. Ceremony and BBQ to follow.

East Greenbush – 10 a.m. | 570 Columbia Turnpike.

Lake George – 11:30 a.m. | Westbrook Road to Shepard Park.

 

Sunday, May 25

Maplewood – 6:30 p.m. | Starts at 61 Cohoes Road.

Rensselaer – Opening ceremonies at 1:00 p.m., parade steps off at 2:00 p.m. | Beverwyck Cemetery to City Hall.

 

Monday, May 26 - Memorial Day
Albany – Time TBA | New route: Central & Lexington Avenues to Lafayette Park.

Gloversville – 9:30 a.m. | 8th Avenue & Main Street to Prospect Hill Cemetery.

Glens Falls / Queenbury – 10 a.m. | Glens Street from Maple Street North to Crandall Park.

Watervliet – 10 a.m. | Watervliet High School to Veterans Park.

Sand Lake – 10 a.m. | Averill Ave. to Sand Lake Veterans Memorial Park.

Coxsackie – 1 p.m. | Apple Blossom Lane to WWII Monument.

Catskill – 2 p.m. | Water Street to Dutchman’s Landing, with ceremony.

Troy/Lansingburgh – 2 p.m. | Lansingburgh High School to Powers Park.
