Movie theaters from the Capital Region and nationwide were hit hard by the pandemic. Many closed permanently. One of those cinemas was the Bow Tie multiplex in Wilton Mall. After closing in 2020, it has sat vacant for nearly four years.
In January, Screen One Entertainment, formerly Bow Tie Cinemas, announced hey were ready to reopen all eight cinemas in the complex. The group says they will host a grand reopening on Wednesday, March 13th with a day of classics and recent releases for only $3 each. Proceeds from Wednesday's showings will go to benefit the Wilton Food Pantry. They'll also be collecting non-perishable food items at the theaters.
Movies to be shown on Wednesday include:
- Jurassic Park
- Singin' in the Rain
- The Wizard of Oz
- A League of their Own
- Barbie
- Oppenheimer
- Elvis
- The Lego Movie
Current run features will begin showing on Thursday:
- Love Lies Bleeding
- Arthur the King
- Dune Part Two
- Kung Fu Panda 4
- Imaginary
