It happened Saturday afternoon
A crash on the Northway at exit 7 has sent a state trooper to the hospital. NewsChannel 13 reports it happened Saturday afternoon around 12:30. The officer was making a traffic stop when a passing vehicle struck the officer.
The two right lanes on the Northway southbound are closed in the area of exit 7, causing significant backups over the Twin Bridges into Clifton Park.
The officer has been taken to Albany Med, no word on the extent of injuries or current condition.
