The 55th Annual Schenectady Holiday Parade: Best Floats, Performances, and More!
The Schenectady County Legislature has announced the winners of the 55th Annual Holiday Parade, which took place on November 23, 2024, in downtown Schenectady. The event featured over 100 floats, marching bands, and performers, delighting crowds with vibrant displays of creativity and holiday spirit. The parade, produced by the County of Schenectady and sponsored by MVP Health Care, highlighted the region's rich tradition of festive entertainment, with participants showcasing their best floats, dance routines, and musical performances.
The awards presented for excellence included, Best Overall, which was claimed by National Grid for their outstanding float; Best Holiday Theme went to the New York State Thruway Authority for their festive representation of the season; Best Movement and Dance was awarded to Ferrara Dance Studio for their dynamic and engaging performance; The Mohonasen Marching Band took home the Best Live Musical Performance award for their spirited musical contribution; The Red Suspenders Award, recognizing community involvement, was given to the Niskayuna Fire District 2 for their dedication and participation in the parade.
