Suzy Bogguss Joins 'Close Up' Series In Cohoes, NY
The newest member of the Grand Ole Opry, Suzy Bogguss, will join Kevin Richards in the 'Close Up' Series at The Cohoes Music Hall on Thursday, May 28, 2026 (Click Here For Info). Suzy is one of the most recognizable voices of 90s country, thanks to blockbusters like 'Hey Cinderella' 'Outbound Plane' 'Drive South' 'Aces' and 'Letting Go'- she's also known as the original composer and performer of the Country Christmas Classic 'Two Step 'Round The Christmas Tree'.
Suzy's diverse career has seen her have success in Country, Americana, Western Swing, The Bakersfield Sound, Blues, Jazz and Folk- including a Folk Songbook. In recent years, she's kept busy with fun projects like 'Wine Down Wednesday', a social media broadcast that started during the pandemic, Suzy's Soup Book, New Music :'Prayin' For Sunshine' and performing the music for an independent film based in her hometown titled 'Everything Fun You Could Possibly Do In Aledo, Illinois'.
Suzy Bogguss has earned her place in Country Music as one of our most respected female voices and sweet talents that will always be a treasured part of our genre. It all started in the mid 80s, after a stint at Dollywood, as a regular theme park performer. Fueled by the success of her performances, she made demo tapes and eventually caught the attention of Capitol Records. After releasing a few songs, Bogguss claimed wins as The ACM New Female Artist Of The Year (1988) and The CMA Horizon Award Winner (1992). Today, she's still recording and touring with that angelic voice as a new member of the Grand Ole Opry- invited to join the same night as her friend Kathy Mattea was inducted!
Check out our tributes to Kenny Rogers, Charley Pride, Kathy Mattea & Jeannie Seely.
