This weekend the Saranac Lake Winter Carnival begins with the incredible Ice Palace as a centerpiece.

The Saranac Lake Winter Carnival, a much-anticipated event in the heart of the Adirondacks, kicks off today Friday, February 2^nd, and is set to run through Sunday, February 11^th. This annual event, known for its vibrant community spirit, unique winter activities, and the iconic Ice Palace, once again is set to bring together locals and tourists alike for a celebration of winter.

The carnival will kick off today with an all-day Clue Hunt and end the day with the Winter Carnival Royalty Reception this evening (Feb 2^nd). Bundle up against the winter chill, and take in the centerpiece of the carnival, the Ice Palace. This year's  palace, a magnificent structure made entirely of ice blocks harvested from Lake Flower, is a sight to behold with the theme 'Creepy Carnival' incorporated throughout. The intricate designs, carved with precision, and the soft glow of lights from within the palace, create a magical, almost otherworldly, ambiance.

Over the course of the next ten days expect a variety of events, catering to all ages and interests. With the Ice Palace Fun Run, Curling competition, Icicle Contest, Cornhole Competition and the annual Fry Pan Toss all with the stunning winter landscapes of Saranac Lake as a backdrop. Plus don’t miss a major highlight of the carnival happening this Saturday evening (Feb 3^rd) with the official Lighting of the Ice Palace and opening fireworks display at 7p. 

The frozen fun continues into next weekend with the annual Winter Carnival Parade on Saturday, February 10^th. The parade, held on the second Saturday of the festival, is set to feature a colorful array of floats, marching bands, and performers, all braving the cold to put on a show for the enthusiastic crowd. The Saranac Lake Winter Carnival is set to conclude on February 11^th with another spectacular firework display over the Ice Palace.
