Find out more about its 518 roots

The 2025 Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree has been chosen, and this year it hails from the Russ family home in East Greenbush, New York. The 75-foot-tall Norway Spruce will be decorated with thousands of lights and topped with a Swarovski Crystal star before being lit on December 3rd during the Rockefeller Center Tree Lighting Ceremony. This tradition dates back to 1931, with the first tree from the Hudson Valley used in 1940, and there have been 19 more trees from the region since then. The tree will be placed in Rockefeller Center on November 8th, 2025, kicking off the holiday season in New York City.
